Studies give some insight into making decisions, will power and the mind

You may have noticed my blogging has fallen off lately. “Off a cliff” is more like it, I suppose.

The reason for this is my life has been especially demanding lately thanks to family issues, wedding planning, other personal issues and work issues. I’m not going to go into detail. I’m just going to say it’s gotten particularly overwhelming in recent months and I’ve been too burned out to blog.

Anyway, that being said, I was very much intrigued by this New York Times piece about decision fatigue I read today. It’s a bit long, but totally worth the read.

Essentially, it’s about how making decisions and using will power wears on the human mind (and the canine mind, in one study)¬†and how this can erode decision-making skills over time. It also touches on obesity problems and business management. I can’t really do it justice in a summary, so I’m just going to tell you to check it out for yourself.
