I was going to post about this last week but got too busy, so I’m writing about it now.
The theater was better.
The screens were big and the projection was tack-sharp. The sound system was brilliant. Â
The floor was clean in the theater. The seats were very comfortable, the cupholders were well-placed and the armrests were well designed. At first I thought the armrests were only on every other seat because it was dark and we got there a little late (Just before opening credits). But later I discovered that you can fold your armrest up if prefer.Â
Snack-wise, there is a little room for improvement, but only because some of the promised treats like pretzels were not in stock yet. Also, I almost ordered nachos until I discovered the cups of cheese they have for the chips are cold, and cold nachos are not appetizing. I expect this to be corrected someday.
Overall, I was very pleased with the theaters. The snack bar may need a little work, but it is totally right where it counts: the movie experience.
My verdict: There was a time when I would go to Fargo to see movies because Jamestown’s old theaters were so unpleasant. Now I don’t see any reason to go all the way to Fargo for a movie any more. We have just as good an experience here, if not better.
