Tallgrass beer arrives in Jamestown

I got a tour of Valley Sales in Jamestown this morning where I was excited to learn that a shipment of beers had arrived from Tallgrass Brewing Company in Manhattan, Kan. Boss Greg Spenningsby showed me their pallets and kegs of the beer, which are being distributed to several off-sale stores and bars in the area and should be available to the public by the end of the day.

I’ve been saying for some time now that Tallgrass makes some lovely beers, and that their creamy stout Buffalo Sweat would make a lovely drink here in Jamestown, the Buffalo City. We have the National Buffal Museum, the World’s Largest Buffalo, and now we have Buffalo Sweat to drink.

Buffalo Sweat is actually a very pleasant stout to drink. It goes down smooth and has a whole bunch of wonderful flavor to it.

Tallgrass makes several other lovely beers, which are also going to be available in town. You can read about them here. Four are already here, and the wheat beer should be coming soon. Whether we’ll be getting the lager, called Kold, up here remains to be seen.

I had hoped Tallgrass would be here sooner, but life doesn’t always work that way. But I’m happy that I can get it here now because I no longer have to hoard the beer after buying it by the case in Kansas. It also means that other area beer lovers can try this stuff out soon.

If you like interesting beers with good flavors, give some of Tallgrass’ stuff a try.

Awesome! I’m glad to see that Tallgrass’s deliciousness is spreading. The new wheat beer (Halcyon) is very highly recommended. As I describe it to people, it’s as if Boulevard made Shock Top.
