A website for North Dakotans who want to brew their own beer

I’ve got this great, big mental list of things I want to do during my lifetime. One of them is this:

Homebrew some beer.

It’s just one of those things that I’ve got rolling around in the back of my head until the right day and the right opportunity comes around. I don’t know when I’ll get around to it, but someday I will.

This is why I was excited when I was tipped off to the North Dakota Brewers online community in January. This website has plenty of resources for Average Joes like me who just want to make their own keg of something tasty and share it with friends.

The website has plenty of growing to do, though. Right now the forum online has 60 registered users, and several of the resource pages are still under construction.

But it is growing, and now I know where to get the tools and ingredients I need whenever I finally get around to making my own Stutsman County Stout. If you’re a fan of homebrewing, or just good beer in general, check it out.

  1. Terrific blog, Logan. Home brewing can be an exciting and rewarding pass time. Many real North Dakotans also make their own wines and distill spirits. Though, the spirit making community is less available for comment if you catch my drift. Being able to brew tax free alcoholic beverages actually can save you a fair share of money as well as being an exciting pass time. We should get together sometime and work on your brewery setup if you haven’t got one already.

Mark, what do you happen to brew? I’ve been brewing pilsners and pale ales for quite some time and I have to say, I’d never drink another commercially bottled beer again, they just taste awful. I add a lot of my own ingredients, but they’ve been hard to come by with all the new federal crack downs on pseudophedrine and such!
