Fundraiser Sunday for Peggy Lee’s home from her teenage years

There’s a fundraiser planned this weekend for the Midland Continental Depot Transportation Museum, which is were famed singer Peggy Lee lived as a teenager. I wrote about the place in summer 2009. Here are the fundraiser details:

A pancake breakfast and silent auction fundraiser for the Midland Continental Depot Transportation Museum is planned to go from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Wimbledon (N.D.) Community Hall.

Rich Smith, Depot general contractor, will be flipping the flapjacks, and his subcontractors and some Masons and firemen will be volunteering as well.

A free-will donation for breakfast will also get a diner a free ticket to tour the Depot and see all of the progress that has been made.

People can also donate items to the silent auction. They must be dropped off by 9 a.m. The auction ends at 12:30 p.m.

For additional information, or to contribute a silent auction item in advance, call Mary Beth Orn at 701-435-2875.
