The drinks that represent North Dakota are … Miller Lite and Almdudler?

A couple of blogs at HoustonPress.com have created maps of the United States marking each state based on the best beer and best soda pop that represents them.

According to the maps:

The soda pop on the map that best represents North Dakota is: Almdudler.

The beer on the map that best represents North Dakota is: Miller Lite.

My reaction: the hell?

While I do not deny that many in North Dakota drink Miller Lite frequently, I would like to think that we have better taste. Surely there is a better beer for North Dakotans to be known for, like Moose Drool or something. On the bright side, at least we’re not represented by Keystone Light. That would just be humiliating. Right, Alabama?

As for Almdudler, I’ve never heard of that before. It seems to be an Austrian soda pop, if Wikipedia can be trusted, that is flavored with apple and grape juice. Has anyone heard of this drink before?
