Food Fight: China Garden

Our mostly-weekly community restaurant review continues this week with Food Fight: China Garden.

There are three Chinese-food restaurants in Jamestown and we’ll be reviewing all three over the next few weeks. Here is your chance to rate them all and declare a winner, if you choose.

Now’s the time to think back on any and all experience you have with China Garden. How is their food? What about service and prices? Do you like the atmosphere in there? Are they better for takeout or eating in?

Click the comments link below and speak your mind. You don’t have to have an Areavoices account to comment on this post or any post on this blog, just fill in the fields and speak your piece.

Also, feel free to check out my complete (I think) list of Food Fight reviews from the past, which are all open for commenting.

My husband and I LOVE China Garden! We’ve tried a handful of things, and all of them are very good. Our favorites are Beef & Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, and fried rice. Their service is usually very good and quick. Yeah, the actual restaurant part could use some updating, but we go there for the food, not the atmosphere. I’ve long said that they’d be a lot more successful if they’d put a buffet up. Honestly, their food is better than the other places, but the people of Jamestown love to have choices without ordering an entire plate of it, so it’s not as popular. So I was very happy to learn that they just started a lunch buffet. I hope it goes over well!

The only thing that bugs me about them is that they close the whole restaurant for a month a few times a year. Because chances are, that’s when I want their food the most!

Not all Chinese food is created equal. The other two restaurant’s cannot even come close to the China Garden. We have tried several in Fargo and Bismarck…Not even close. China Garden’s food does not all taste the same. Just give it a try and you will know what I mean.
