A goal: 1,000 fans on Facebook

Right now, The Jamestown Sun’s Facebook page has 860 people who “like” it. That’s 750 more fans than we had at the beginning of the year.

I’ve been working over the past 11 months to build our presence on Facebook and provide our fans with daily doses of news from their local newspaper. The response has been utterly fantastic.

But I’m not satisfied. I want to keep growing, and I want 1,000 fans by the end of the year. To do that, I need your help.

Please, if you haven’t already, “like” The Jamestown Sun on Facebook. Then, using the “Suggest to Friends” option in the upper left corner, tell your friends that they too should “like” The Jamestown Sun.

This will allow you and your friends to receive daily updates on news and sports of the area, along with breaking news, right in your Facebook feed. It will also allow you to make comments on everything we post to Facebook.

Also, we’ve been in a bit of a competition with the Worthington Daily Globe over the past year to see who could get the most fans. They have 892 fans, as of this writing. They may be in the lead right now, but I believe we can beat them.

So to join the many hundreds of souls who “like” The Jamestown Sun, follow this link. You’ll be among friends.

Say, that’s a beautiful picture you have at the top of the page. Where is that?
