Pomeroy the finger puppet

So I got this election ad in the mail earlier this week but never noticed it until this morning. It refers to newly-defeated Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., as “Nancy Pelosi’s puppet” and has a piece you can pop out to make your very own Earl Pomeroy finger puppet.  Naturally, I had to try it. Here are some photos.

Here is the main advertisement.

I think I know why I never saw anyone with these at rallies. They're really darned hard to pop out without tearing them into little bits of paper.

Here he is going for a stroll in the newsroom. I wonder if this could lead to a game of taking him and taking pictures like with "Flat Stanley."

Just in case you were wondering who sent it.

I’m leaving Pomeroy the puppet on my desk for now, next to this little miniature figure of “The Joker” from “The Dark Knight.” Maybe I should make him a little paper beer to hold in his hand, now that he’s leaving office.

What do you think of this campaign material? Did it go to far?

Clever. Nancy Pelosi had a lot of puppets, I am glad to have some new leadership. Let her go back to California and enjoy her grandchildren.

I think that was a rather clever ad by the NDGOP. I’m sure it was offensive to some, but it’s not as destructive as many of the other ads out there. And the receiver gets a free toy! :)
