The story of Lawrence Welk

My friend M.E. Sprengelmeyer, a newspaper editor in New Mexico, showed me this video that tells the story of famed North Dakotan Lawrence Welk. It’s a song by the band "Those Darned Accordians.

For those not in the know, Welk was born and raised in Strasburg, N.D., and this state is very proud of his accomplisments. His show might have been canceled decades ago, but I still see obituaries where the deceased made a point of saying they were fans of Lawrence Welk. Now that’s a following.
