Honey is a hound dog of the mixed-breed sort, and she is most certainly as sweet as her name. She currently resides at the James River Humane Society’s animal shelter east of Jamestown. You can look at her petfinder.com profile here.
Honey also has a mountain of energy and needs a good owner to help her burn it. I would bet she could be trained to be a good hunting dog, but there’s no way to know until you try.
Honey is a bit ornery but never destructive. She is house trained and I know I have never seen use her kennel like a fire hydrant. I hear she is also good with cats, but you’d have to ask the other volunteers who know more on that subject.
The JRHS shelter is open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays. Here’s a view of the location, courtesy of Google Streetview.
