From the pile: VISA ‘BLACK CARD’

I got a ridiculous offer in the mail yesterday that I feel I must share with you all. VISA has offered to extend me a line of credit in the form of their luxurious "BLACK CARD."

This card is supposed to be very exclusive and reserved only for the very high-class members of our society, so it makes no sense that they would offer it to a working journalist.

Also, the annual fee is $495, just for the privilege of their oh-so-special card made of carbon, not plastic. I can’t help but feel this is just some elaborate prank.

    I got one of those too. The sad thing is there are people out there that will pay the $495/year just to carry a “status” symbol.
