Here I am, back at my desk at The Jamestown Sun.
I had an interesting drive back from Kansas yesterday. The area around my hometown has gotten a fair deal of rain lately, so all the creeks were up and there was plenty of moisture in the fields as I drove past them Monday morning. Then, the farther north I went, the more the water levels dropped. By the time I reached Iowa, the rain was mostly over and the creeks were down.
When I reached South Dakota, things seemed completely normal, but as I went north the water levels in the rivers and ditches kept going up. By the time I crossed the Sheyenne River in Valley City, the water was downright high.
But I am back at my desk getting back to work. And no, I didn’t catch the swine flu while I was down in Kansas. At least, I hope I didn’t.
